Quran Recitation:
This section is intended for our Non Muslim family and Friends of the dying or the deceased.
We have occasionally received a call from the family of a dying person or a Nursing home or Hospital, requesting that an Imam or a suitable person attend the bedside of the person to recite the Quran and perform the last rites. This service is available but may not always be possible especially if the person is in a remote town or city with no Muslims residents in close proximity.
These are some audio files of chapters of the Holy Quran which you may find useful during these difficult times Insha-Allah.
For Non-Muslim family & friends if no one is available to recite then just playing the audio of these verses in the room or proximity to the dying person, will be very beneficial to the ill or deceased (especially at Surah Yaseen during the illness and at the time of death), and all the other chapters at any time even at the grave side.
Surah Al-Fatiha (Ch 1) is the first Chapter of the Holy Quran, also referred to as The Opening.
Surah Al-Ikhlas (Ch 112), Surah Al-Falaq (Ch 113) & Surah An-Naas (Ch 114) are the last three Chapters of the Quran.
It is said that reading the Surah Al-Ikhlas (Ch 112) three times is equivalent in reward (blessing or sawab) to that of reciting the entire Quran. This can be read at any time and in particular with the intention of the reward going to the deceased.
Surah Yaseen (Ch 36) is often referred to as the heart of the Quran, and eases the pains of death, and may therefore be recited when someone is close to death.
